10+ Years After Being Announced, The Watch Dogs Movie Is Actually Happening, For Real

More than a decade after the Watch Dogs movie was originally announced, cameras have finally begun rolling. The film was announced in 2013, but stalled multiple times. However, it’s now back on and production has officially begun.

Tom Blyth, who starred in the Hunger Games prequel The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, will play a lead. He joins Sophia Wilde, who was previously confirmed for the cast. Beyond Blyth and Wilde, there is no word yet on who else might appear in the Watch Dogs film, or when it might release.

Mathieu Turi (The Deep Dark, Hostile, and assistant director on Inglourious Basterds) is directing Watch Dogs from a script by Christie LeBlanc (Oxygen). Victoria Bata (Lessons in Chemistry) also contributed to the script.
