Wicked: Part One hits theaters on November 22, and it’s shaping up to be one of the biggest releases of the year. A reimagining of The Wizard of Oz, Wicked originally released as a novel by Gregory Maguire before being adapted into a Tony Award-winning stage musical. The Universal Pictures musical film has been in the works for over a decade, and the studio appears to be betting big on the film. Not only is it split into two parts–Wicked: Part Two is slated for November 2025–but there’s a lot of new Wicked merch releasing in the coming weeks.

Many products are up for preorder, while others are now available and listed with a discount ahead of Wicked’s November release. A brand-new prequel novel releases next year to help fans fill the gap between the first and second parts of the film adaptation.

As mentioned already, Wicked is a revisionist version of The Wizard of Oz. It’s very different from the original L. Frank Baum novel and the classic film, but it features some of the same characters and is set in the same world. As such, a new 4K collector’s edition of the beloved 1939 film will release on November 5.
Along with a 4K UHD copy of the iconic film, you’ll get a standard Blu-ray disc and voucher for the digital version. The 85th Anniversary Theater Edition also includes a bunch of collectibles:

If you’re unfamiliar with Maguire’s novels, you should know that it’s written for adults, not children like L. Frank Baum’s 1900 novel The Wizard of Oz. Wicked does not star Dorothy; instead, the story focuses on Elphaba Thropp, who later is known as the Wicked Witch of the West.
The novel’s full title is Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West.
Wicked Collector’s Editions
The first book in Maguire’s series is also getting a gorgeous new hardcover edition (shown above on the left). Wicked Collector’s Edition has a foil-stamped cover, green stained edges, and a ribbon bookmark. The foil-stamped cover art is a brand-new design for the series. The map of Oz is included as endpapers. Wicked Collector’s Edition releases September 24 and is available to preorder for 30% off, dropping the price from $40 to $28.
There’s another gorgeous edition to consider, and this one is available now. The bonded-leather hardcover version of Wicked shown above on the right is exclusive to Barnes & Noble. It comes with a satin ribbon bookmark and contains beautiful illustrations. Wicked also comes with the second book in the series, Son of a Witch, and is available for only $35. Meanwhile, Barnes & Noble’s Collectible Edition of The Wizard of Oz with a bonded-leather cover is only $15.

Elphie: A Wicked Childhood (Hardcover)

Elphie is an upcoming 288-page prequel novel that follows young Elphaba years before the tale of Wicked. You’ll learn more about not just Elphaba, but also Nessarose, Shell, Frex, and Melena. Elphie: A Wicked Childhood releases March 25, 2025. This hardcover is described as a Deluxe Limited Edition, but it’s unclear at this time what makes it “deluxe,” as the full design hasn’t been revealed.
Wicked Dolls
A variety of Wicked dolls from Barbie manufacturer Mattel are arriving on September 28, including Elphaba, Glinda, and Nessarose. A few different styles are available for each, and most come with additional accessories like scepters, capes, and crowns.

This cloth-bound hardcover pop-up book features three scenes and 10 illustrations. It releases the same day as the film, so you could check it out after returning from the theater. Wicked: The Grimmerie Collectible Hardcover Journal
