We’ve seen plenty of video games adapted into comic-book series, and at long last, RuneScape is making the leap to the printed page. The brand-new comic book series based on the long-running MMORPG kicks off in November, and GameSpot can exclusively reveal several pages of interior art for the four-part mini-series being published by Titan Comics. RuneScape fans will want to look at grabbing the series, as each physical edition of the comic will include a special game code for 200 Runecoins.
This adaptation of RuneScape will expand on the fan-favorite God Wars dungeon questline, and if you’re interested, you can download a free preview through this link.
“Delve into the Temple of Lost Ancients during the catastrophic and iconic God Wars, as four warring armies fight for control of the Godsword: the only weapon capable of killing a deity,” the official synopsis for the series reads. “Trapped in the center of the conflict is Maro, who dreams of breaking free of his master’s clutches.”
Written by Ryan O’Sullivan and illustrated by artists Daniel Bayliss and Sid Kotian, Titan Comics has preorder details on its official site. This is a pretty solid line-up of talent for the RuneScape series, as O’Sullivan previously wrote the well-received Dark Souls: The Age of Fire mini-series and the art team of Bayliss and Kotian have worked for major publishers like Marvel and DC.
