The perils of substance abuse in Hollywood, or really in any artistic craft, are tragic and mostly well-known. Some artists keep their struggles private, but recently Tom Holland opened up about his own problems with alcohol addiction.
During an interview with Jay Shetty, the Spider-Man actor, who can now be seen on The Crowded Room on Apple TV+, admitted he struggled with alcohol. The actor even said how he felt “enslaved” by his addiction.
“I was definitely addicted to alcohol. I’m not shying away from that at all. It’s interesting. I didn’t one day wake up and say, ‘I’m giving up drinking’. I, just like many Brits, had a very, very boozy December. I’ve always been able to drink a lot,” he said.
