Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 Is Coming to the Base Game Alongside Phantom Liberty

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty will add a ton of new features and mechanics to the base Cyberpunk experience, but CD Projekt Red has revealed that fans who don’t want to buy the DLC won’t be left out in the cold.

As part of Gamescom Opening Night Live, CD Projekt Red gameplay designer Yuliia Pryimak joined Geoff Keighley on stage to announce the Cyberpunk 2.0 update.

“I’m really happy to announce that a lot of what we’ve just seen in the trailer will also be coming to Cyberpunk base game for free for current-gen consoles and PC,” Pryimak said.

Cyberpunk 2.0 is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series XS, and PC next month alongside the Phantom Liberty expansion on September 26. We don’t know exactly which features will be part of the base game and which will be locked behind Phantom Liberty, but this is the list of new features CD Projekt Red included in the trailer:

A dangerous new districtDozens of new story quests and gigsVehicle combat and mounted weaponryRevamped police systemCombat AI overhaulEndless dynamic events and missionsRedesigned cyberware and perksAll-new relic skill tree and abilitiesIncreased level cap100+ new items – Weapons, cyberware, and fashion

It feels safe to assume that new story content like missions and locations will be exclusive to Phantom Liberty, while changes to the gameplay, combat, and AI will be universal.
