Everything New In Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 has landed, and the rumors were true: This season is all about Greek mythology, with a battle pass full of folks like Zeus and Aphrodite, a battle royale island that now features famous mythological locations, and new super powered mythic items. And that’s on top of a refreshed loot pool full of new guns and weapon mods. Let’s dig in.

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 New Map locations

The battle royale island now includes four new locations based on ancient Greece and Greek mythology, including Mount Olympus up in the sky and the Underworld deep beneath the ground, along with a gladiatorial arena called Brawler’s Battleground. It’s not an entirely new map, but it’s a pretty significant alteration. You can check out all the new map elements in detail here.

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 new weapons and mythic items

While a number of guns from Season 1 are sticking around, including the infamous Hammer Pump Shotgun and divisive Reaper Sniper Rifle, we’re also getting a slate of new weapons, all of which will have mythic variants that drop from NPC bosses. And I hope you like weapon mods, because this season adds a couple more of those, and a brand new way to access a mod bench mid-match.

And with this being Greek mythology season, we’re getting some abilities and mythic items as well, like the Wings of Icarus and Thunderbolt of Zeus. You can read all about the new stuff in the Chapter 5 Season 2 loot pool here.

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 battle pass

As befits a Greek mythology season, the battle pass is full of greek gods and goddesses–with, Zeus, Hades and Aphrodite headlining. This battle pass has no collaboration skins in the main part of the pass, but pass owners will be able to unlock Korra from Avatar: The Last Airbender midway through the season. Take a closer look at everything in the Chapter 5 Season 2 battle pass here.

Rocket League Season 14 Rocket Pass

A new season of Rocket League has also just begun, and both of the two new car bodies that you can unlock in the Season 14 Rocket Pass will cross over to Fortnite when you earn them in Rocket League, meaning you’ll be able to use them both in Rocket Racing and battle royale. Fun fact: if you subscribe to Fortnite Crew right now, you’ll receive both the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 battle pass and the Season 14 Rocket Pass–and the Admiral car body will unlock to your account instantly the next time you open Rocket League.
