Every console has its must-play title, and for Switch owners, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is that game. Currently on sale at Walmart ahead of Prime Day, Nintendo’s best-selling Switch game of all time is down to just $30.
In case you’ve missed out on it or you only recently got a Switch, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is more than just a port of the Wii U classic. All the kart-racing fundamentals are in place here, alongside the fun combat and twisty courses, but several big quality-of-life changes were added when the game first launched back in 2017. Since then, it has also received a stack of free and premium DLC, expanding the roster of playable characters and tracks to race on.
It’s also a superb multiplayer game, and if you’re looking to introduce your friends and family to the dread of a blue tortoise shell, it’s the best game for the job. You’re also going to face plenty of rivals online, as with 61.97 million units sold as of March 31, 2024, there are a lot of people wanting to burn some rubber in friendly competition.
