New Fortnite Weapons In Chapter 5 Season 2

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 is here. In the Greek mythology-themed Myths and Monsters season, there are many new weapons for you to equip on your path to more Victory Royales. In this guide we’ll go over all of the new weapons, including guns and other offensive weapons, even mentioning new traversal items. We’ll also detail which unvaulted weapons are returning this season and which weapons remain available in the loot pool from last season. Here’s everything you need to know about new Fortnite weapons in Chapter 5 Season 2: Myths and Monsters.

Thunderbolt of Zeus

Themed for the season’s gallery of gods is the Thunderbolt of Zeus, a new weapon that plays somewhat like the many anime weapons we’ve seen in the past; jump high into the air, then punish those beneath you like the mere mortals they are by raining down upon them with a storm-like strike. The Thunderbolt comes with three total charges and a cooldown between uses, so it can’t be spammed all game, thank Zeus.

Gatekeeper Shotgun

The Gatekeeper shotty is best used up close and in a hurry, as it can dish out three rounds in quick succession before it needs to reload. It seems like the sort of gun highly competitive players will love, as there’s a slow reload, but that won’t matter if you’re accurate with those first three shots.

Harbinger SMG

The Harbinger SMG is not a burst-fire weapon, but it may be best used that way. It’s very accurate initially, but recoil and bloom gets more severe as you hold down the trigger. There’s also a Mythic version you can get for defeating Hades, a new boss on the island this season.

Huntress DMR

This season’s likely favorite for anyone who wants the maneuverability of an assault rifle with the range of a sniper, the Huntress DMR is inspired by Artemis herself, who happens to be a battle pass character this season. You can find the Mythic version by defeating Zeus.

Warforged Assault Rifle

There’s no suh thing as a new season without a new AR, right? The weapon of choice for most players no matter the era, the assault rifle this time around is high on damage, rate of fire, but also recoil, so it takes some taming. Find a Mythic version by defeating Ares.

Wings of Icarus

Take flight in Myths and Monsters with the Wings of Icarus Mythic-tier traversal item. These wings allow you to fly through the skies and even divebomb onto enemies. But if you fly too long, your wings will wither away, and when that happens at too high a height, prepare for a crash landing that may even be fatal. In short: Don’t fly too close to the sun, kid.

Chains of Hades

The Chains of Hades Mythic item won’t be in the loot pool on day one of the new season, but Epic has already teased that you can look for it later this season. By the sound of it, you’ll be able to pull enemies closer to you, much like Mortal Kombat’s Scorpion. Get over here!

Returning weapons

Of course, it’s never just abotu the new weapons, but also the old weapons coming back. This season’s loot pool includes several holdovers from last season, including:

Hammer Pump ShotgunFrenzy Auto ShotgunNemesis ARThunder Burst SMGReaper Sniper RifleRanger Pistol

Mods return and debut

Weapon mods look here to stay, and two new ones will debut this season: the Thermal Scope and the Speedgrip. The Thermal Scope can even be attached to any weapon that fits a scope, in case you want to take out bush-campers at close-range.

Mod benches (and other weapons) will now be found in new Weapon Bunkers, which unlock in the middle of matches.
