The Casting Of Frank Stone – How To Kill All Characters (Everyone Dies Walkthrough)

The Casting of Frank Stone, similar to other titles from Supermassive Games, presents numerous quick-time events (QTEs) and decisions that can have serious ramifications. Many of these lead to an untimely demise for your heroes. Here’s our guide on how kill all characters in The Casting of Frank Stone. Likewise, please remember that this article contains spoilers and images with violence and gore.

How to kill all characters in The Casting of Frank Stone – Everyone Dies walkthrough

Our The Casting of Frank Stone Everyone Dies walkthrough focuses primarily on key moments that lead to character-death scenes. We won’t list all possible brutal kills in the game, but we’ll mention the earliest incidents, as well as some alternative options if you’re further ahead in the campaign. We also encourage you to make use of the Cutting Room Floor feature once you’ve unlocked it–though it’s also available to Deluxe edition owners from the start.

Also, to clarify, The Casting of Frank Stone “Merciless Killer” Achievement/Trophy requires the deaths of Jaime, Chris, Madison, Linda, and Sam, so we have to take note of the timelines/arcs:

1980: Jaime, Chris, Linda (younger), and Sam (younger)2024: Madison, Linda (older), and Sam (older)

Lastly, we won’t be discussing all the collectibles here, but you can refer to our guides on the obtainable Trinkets. We’ve also got an Everyone Survives walkthrough for those who want to save all the playable characters.

Chapter 5: Jaime – Chopped in half

Among The Casting of Frank Stone character deaths, it seems that Jaime’s the first in line. This happens in Chapter 5: The Phantom of Cedar Steel. When Chris is being pulled through the portal, you can choose to “Flee” or “Confront.”

If you run away, Jaime will survive (for now). But if you advance toward Frank, Jaime will get chopped in half. There seems to be a way to counter this if you find a particular item, but we haven’t encountered it in our playthrough.

Chapter 8: Madison – Burned to a husk

It’s possible to kill all characters in The Casting of Frank Stone, including Madison. The earliest death scene for her that we know of happens in Chapter 8: Mystery Manor. After solving the Horologium puzzle, you’re tasked with hitting the switch of the central terminal. Failing to do this causes eldritch energies to burn her to a crisp.

Note that Madison plays a pivotal role in several chapters in the 2024 arc. As such, we’ve yet to confirm how the whole narrative would play out without her. It’s better to keep her alive for now since there are several potential death scenes later on.

Chapter 10 and 11: Chris – Turned inside out while traveling between realities

This character death in The Casting of Frank Stone happens across two chapters. For Chapter 10: In the House of Madness, Chris will find herself in the 2024 timeline and she’ll meet Madison. Here’s what you need to do:

Choose the “Hopeful” reply to say that you’d like to go back to your original 1980 timeline.Fail the QTE to grab the lever. Stan will help you afterward.Stan will fall off the edge. Fail the QTE here.Choose “Go” and don’t help Stan.

Due to the delay, something goes wrong when Chris enters the Horologium. At the start of Chapter 11: All Paths Must Cross, she’ll emerge from the portal with only her internal organs remaining.

Note: It’s possible for Stan to die in Chapter 10 if Chris decides to stay in 2024 and you miss the QTE prompt to save him. However, Chris’s arc will be tied to that of Madison’s in 2024, and we’ve yet to confirm what this leads to.

Chapter 13: Chris – Head crushed

If you’ve already reached Chapter 13: Murder Mill with all 1980 characters alive, then perhaps you’re thinking of the best ways to kill them off. Well, we’ve got you covered.

First, there’s Chris. When you’re controlling Linda, don’t use the Cursed Camera to fight off Frank. The poltergeist will then stomp on Chris’ head, crushing it completely.

Chapter 13: Bonnie – Hooked

Among The Casting of Frank Stone character deaths, there’s one that’s completely unavoidable as far as we know. It concerns Bonnie, who Frank impales on a hook.

Chapter 13: Jaime – Jawbreaker

Sheriff Sam will be the playable character in this particular section. There are multiple branching paths here, so you need to do specific actions if you want to kill all characters in The Casting of Frank Stone.

In this particular segment, let’s assume that Jaime is still alive:

In the storm drain, Sam ends up with the Cursed Camera. If you see the camera icon in the lower-left corner of the screen, that’s your cue bring out the camera so you can fight Frank. Failure to do so leads to Sam’s death. The first time you see this prompt, you need to fight off Frank. Then, mantle over the ledge to the right. You’ll find the Spirit doll in the corridor and, at the end of the path, you’ll see an injured Jaime. Fail the camera minigame this time so Frank can kill Jaime.

Chapter 13: Sam – Mauled to death

As mentioned above, Sam needs to survive his first run-in with Frank if you want to kill off Jaime during this chapter. With Jaime taken care of, you can let Sam fail at his next encounter against Frank. Robert will then pick up the Cursed Camera.

Chapter 13: Linda – Head squisher

We were able to see the younger version of Linda get killed in this chapter, but it also meant Jaime’s survival (we didn’t kill him during Chapter 5 in our original playthrough). Here’s what happened:

When Sam first encountered Frank, we failed the camera minigame. Sam died and he was unable to check on Jaime. However, a later cutscene showed that Jaime still survived. When Robert confronted Frank, we failed the QTEs as Linda, which led to her death. In this attempt, the 1980 characters that survived were Robert and Jaime.

But there’s another alternative which we came across during our next attempt:

As Sam, we fended off Frank during the first encounter in the storm drain. Then, we met up with Jaime and had Frank kill him.In the second encounter, we failed the camera minigame, which caused Sam’s death.During Robert’s confrontation against Frank, we failed the QTEs as Linda. However, this did not lead to Linda’s death. Instead, the cries of a baby sounded, which distracted Frank long enough for Robert and Linda to capture him automatically.

We’re still in the process of confirming the details, but it seems that at least two characters need to survive the 1980 arc: Robert and someone else (i.e. Linda or Jaime).

Chapter 14: Stan – Consumed by Frank Stone

Chapter 14: The Massacre at Gerant Manor has such an apt name due to Frank’s murderous rampage here. The first character who can die here is Stan, who’s unplayable as far as we know.

When Frank emerges from the projector screen, fail the QTE and don’t sacrifice yourself. Frank will then gobble up Stan.

Chapter 14: Linda – Neck stab

Assuming both Linda and Madison are still alive in your playthrough, you’ll see them running away from Frank. Then, in the generator room, you need to fail the minigame. Just press the button at the wrong time until the generator explodes. Frank will then stab Linda through the neck. Madison will be able to escape, but not for long.

Note: If you successfully complete the generator minigame, Frank will knock out Madison. As Linda, you have the option to save Madison or escape via the elevator. Choosing to escape causes Frank to follow Linda and decapitate her. Frank will also capture Madison so she can be sacrificed.

Even though both Linda and Madison die here, the older version of Sam is still alive. He’ll automatically escape via the Horologium due to these events.

Chapter 14: Madison – Neckbreaker

Let’s say you really want to kill all characters in The Casting of Frank Stone. Well, you have to make sure that Linda dies in the generator room (mentioned above).

Madison will be able to escape, which leads to several QTE sequences where she’s being chased by Frank. You must succeed in all these QTEs until you reach the part where Madison encounters Sam. You’re given two options:

Flee – Madison will survive.Try to help – Frank will instantly break Madison’s neck.

Chapter 14: Sam – Sacrificed to the Entity

Madison’s death happens when Frank is right next to Sam. You get to control Sam during this part, instead of seeing him escape automatically via the Horologium in a separate scene.

Now, all you need to do is fail the QTE prompts. Frank will capture Sam and bring him to the terrace. There, he’ll be impaled on a hook and sacrificed to the Entity.

Chapter 14: Augustine – Sacrificed to the Entity

Augustine’s death seems to be unavoidable as well, regardless of whether someone is sacrificed to the Entity or not. She’ll always get ensnared and her soul will be devoured.

In any case, that does it for our The Casting of Frank Stone Everyone Dies guide. These character deaths sure are gory, but we hope you’re able to acquire the “Merciless Killer” Achievement/Trophy at the very end. In our case, we obtained this with the following result:

1980 characters: Robert and Linda (younger) survived.2024 characters: No one survived.

Lastly, those who want to see a more complete ending with all heroes alive (well, the playable ones at least), should check our Everyone Survives/Save All Characters walkthrough.
